The intention to create a new generation printer and launch it into batch production was announced at the NDExpo-2017 forum by Alex Dub, deputy director of Science and Innovations, a part of the state corporation Rosatom. Dub noted that additive technologies are developing very quickly, so that in their arsenal of development, allowing easy, fast, high-quality and inexpensive to produce complex three-dimensional objects, it would be very handy.
Deputy Head of "Science and Innovation" explained that first of all he means printers capable of printing designs from metal powders, but he did not rule out the possibility of using Russian 3D printing developments in other areas, for example, medicine.
At the moment, Rosatom has already released a prototype of a new generation 3D printer, which is currently being tested. Complete tests and submit the first production model is planned before the end of 2017, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the corporation.
Representatives of the corporation noted that the entire hardware and software complex will cost about 20 percent cheaper than foreign analogues, and the seal itself will also save - metal powders for printing will start to be manufactured in Russia.
