A next seminar of No. 2 department of the Institute of Information Technology on subject   "Network traffic modeling methods" was held. Senior research fellow of the Institute, PhD, Ramiz Shikhaliyev who presented the report, noted the importance of assessment of its activity for provision of reliability and efficiency assessment of modern computer networks. Modeling of network traffic is necessary to ensure its reliable high quality in accordance with the management computer networks productivity and requirements of network services’ users.

Noting that a single effective network traffic model for analysis of all types of network traffic characteristics does not exist, he introduced different models of network traffic.  He gave detailed information about pros and cons of network traffic models.
