Institute of Information Technology held a scientific seminar dedicated to the International Mother Language Day. In the event the computer linguistics, language engineering and industry, informatics emotion, language reflection in the virtual space, as well as multifaceted challenges of the application of computer technology in linguistics was discussed.

The head of department, doctor of technical sciences Ramiz Aliguliyev at the scientific seminar made a report on " Scientific and theoretical problems and research trends of language engineering" and informed about that great contribution in this area by scientists, different views, new approaches, terms, definitions, and so on..

He gaved information about approaches of American linguist George Kingsley Zipf and Zipf principles that are widely used in the field of language engineering ,as well as the well-known American linguist and scholar, author of classification of formal languages, "Modern Linguistics father" called Noam Komski’s role  in this area.

Rasim Aliquliyuev said that language engenineering deals with the creation of computer systems by applying knowledge of the language for recognizing natural language, understanding, interprets and generating.He also talked about research areas of language engeneering such as identification and verification of the speaker, symbols and text recognition, natural language understanding, its architecture, key processes and methodologies.

The scientist spoke about the problems of the Azerbaijani language of engineering. At the Institute of Information Technology scientific research carried out in several directions of in this field and emphasized dissertations defended. He stated the importance of development of lexical and morfological analyzes algorihms of words, semantic network of words, texts base, translation programs, the national search and antiplagiat systemsfor the solutions of existed problems.
