At the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Education, Babak Nabiyev, Head of the Institute's AzScienceNet Network Operation Center and Phd, provided information about the upcoming Republican Scientific-Practical Seminar on the topic of “AzScienceNet Network: New Realities, Opportunities, and Regulation Issues.”

He announced the establishment of an Organizing Committee and the formation of a Working Group for the event, adding that five reports are planned for presentation within the program.

B.Nabiyev emphasized that the main goal of the hybrid seminar is to discuss the recent development trends, upcoming challenges, and new opportunities of the AzScienceNet network, as well as practical recommendations regarding the network’s management, regulation, and security issues. He noted that the event serves to further strengthen the role of the AzScienceNet network in the digital transformation process of our country's science and education institutions, as well as its position and strategic importance in international scientific integration.

It should be noted that the close cooperation established with influential international organizations enables local users to extensively benefit from the advanced opportunities offered by European and global science and education networks. Admitted as a national operator to the European Association of Science and Education Networks (GEANT) since 2015, AzScienceNet plays a crucial virtual bridge role in the integration of the Azerbaijani science and education community into Europe and the global arena.

Currently, a number of scientific research institutes and higher education institutions in our country gain access via the network to high-speed internet, as well as cloud technologies, next-generation network services, and modern security solutions. Furthermore, AzScienceNet has successfully represented our country in the Eastern Partnership Connect (EaPConnect) project, which is financed by the European Commission and implemented at the initiative of the GEANT Association, covering the Eastern Partnership countries.
