Head of Department of the Institute of Information Technology, corresponding member of ANAS, Ramiz Aliguliyev, and head of the AzScienceNet Network Operation Center, Babak Nabiyev participated in the TNC24 (Terena Networking Conference) international event.
More than 800 experts representing 70 countries participated in the international event hosted by the Research and Education Network of France (RENATER) in Rennes, France from 10–14 June 2024.
TNC, which is considered one of the largest and most prestigious European research and education networking conferences, is organized by the GEANT Association. The conference annually brings together leading network organizations, higher education institutions, experts and industry representatives from different countries of the world.
Side meetings, training seminars, sessions dedicated to current problems of the TNC24 program were held at the conference. Also cloud technologies, artificial intelligence for research and education, digital twins, cyber security, services provided by GEANT (eduroam, eduGAIN, FileSender), etc. were covererd.
Within the framework of the event, the employees of the institute participated in the meeting of the General Assembly of the GEANT Association, as well as in the meeting of the Management Board of the EaPConnect project with the participation of Eastern Partnership countries. Annual report for 2023, development of cooperation between networks, action plan of GEANT Association and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
This year representatives of the EaPConnnect project have also gathered in Rennes to participate in the TNC24 conference. Eastern Partnership countries participating in the EaPConnect project were widely represented in the sessions of the conference. In the session, the head of the AzScienceNet NOC, Babak Nabiyev, introduced a presentation about both Azerbaijan and the Institute of Information Technology and the AzScienceNet. Opinions were exchanged around the report, questions were answered.
The next TNC25 conference is planned to be held in Brighton, England.
