President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on the establishment of Remembrance Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
AZERTAC informs that according to the decree, September 27 will be marked as Remembrance Day every year.
The order says: “In response to the next military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, which began on September 27, 2020, it is noted that the Azerbaijani people started a patriotic war to liberate our occupied lands.
Our soldiers and officers, our civilians working in the rear, our people as a whole, who showed our determination and will, unity and solidarity as a fist, delivered crushing blows to the enemy.
The enemy, who could not stand the victory march of the Azerbaijani Army, committed war crimes by resorting to provocations and targeting innocent civilians.
Many of our compatriots were martyred, disappeared, injured and lost their health. Our lands have been liberated from occupation at the cost of the blood and lives of our heroic martyrs, soldiers and officers, veterans. The history written by our victorious Army today is a solid foundation for Azerbaijan, which will develop and prosper even more tomorrow. It is also an important factor in ensuring lasting and lasting peace, tranquility and security in the region.
Azerbaijan always appreciates the bravery of its sons and daughters, respects the spirit of all our martyrs and holds high their memory. As a sign of deep respect to our soldiers and officers, all our martyrs, who fought heroically in the war, waved the Azerbaijani flag in our liberated lands, sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I decide:
