International Safer Internet Day - a holiday was established at the initiative of the European Commission in 2004, annually on the second day of the second week of the second month of the year in all countries of the world.
This significant event is celebrated under various slogans in more than 150 countries of the world. The events are coordinated by the non-governmental organization INSAFE (European Safer Internet Network). INSAFE is a network of national organizations created with the participation of the European Commission. The main mission of the Organization is to promote a safe Internet, especially to inform future generations about existing threats in the global network, and to conduct educational work. INSAFE is run by the European School Council, which includes representatives from ministries of education in 26 European countries.
Day events are held under various mottos. In 2020, the motto for Safe Internet Day is “Together for a Better Internet,” and it falls on February 11th.
