Sberbank named three main trends in the field of cyber threats for 2020, including social engineering, phishing and DDoS attacks. This opinion was expressed by TASS Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Stanislav Kuznetsov on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
“For 2020, I see three powerful trends. These are DDoS attacks, their nature will definitely change this year, and the level of risks for various companies, mainly small ones, is growing tremendously in terms of the reliable operation of these companies. The second trend is phishing attacks, fraudsters will use modern "malware" to "hook" into the operating systems of various companies. The culture of detecting such attacks is low in the Russian Federation, and we need to learn to identify and understand them, comply with internal rules to avoid these risks, "he said.
The third trend, according to the deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, is the growth of fraud using the social engineering method. “This trend has come to us from 2019, we have a chance to stop this growth, but so far it continues. It seems to me that if we move together with (law enforcement) bodies in this work against the background of tougher penalties for such crimes at the legislative level , we have a good chance to turn the tide in a few months, "summed up Kuznetsov.
