The other day the face recognition system installed at Washington International Airport during the passport control of a flight arriving from France revealed an intruder who wanted to enter the territory of the United States on forged documents. The fact is that the passport of a French citizen gives the right to enter the US without a visa, but comparing the photograph in the passport with the appearance of the man, the neural network detected a discrepancy and reported this to the border and immigration service.
In the course of further activities, it turned out that the perpetrator is a citizen of the Congo (he even found a passport of this country during the search). Moreover, some time ago, by a decision of the US court, he was deported from the country without the right to enter and receive a visa for the next 20 years. The reasons for this zeal of a citizen to the territory of the North American state are not reported, however, given the success of the system of recognition of persons, the US authorities stated that this system will be implemented in all airports of the country. Now it is launched in a test mode only at airports in Washington State and in New York.
