The EU will create a base for Bitcoin owners to fight crime 2018-04-30 10:58:00 / INTERESTING INFORMATION

The anonymity of bitcoin, as well as the difficulties with its control, are of concern to the governments of many countries. The deputies of the European Parliament did not become an exception, they were worried that with the help of the crypto currency, it is theoretically possible to finance terrorism or launder money. In order to take control of complex crypto-currency processes, EU deputies proposed creating a single register of Bitcoin users, expressing the opinion that this measure can partially solve the above-mentioned problems.

It is assumed that the list will consist of those people who have ever used the services of electronic exchanges, exchangers, or the crypto currency, or invested in it. In addition, it was suggested to introduce a strict control framework for crypto-instruments. The exchanges, in their opinion, could independently tell where they should go about all suspicious money transfers.

For the sake of simplicity of control, it is proposed to enter for each purse a universal identifier linked to a certain person - so the bodies having access to this database will be able to receive operational information, more effectively combating cybercrime.

In Russia, as in some other countries, the status of the crypto currency is not yet defined. Work on this issue, President Vladimir Putin instructed to finish by the summer of 2018.
