The Grasshopper application will teach programming in JavaScript using mini-games 2018-04-27 10:47:00 / TECHNOLOGİCAL İNNOVATİONS

If the world of the XIX century needed hard-working peasants, the 20th century - into professional workers, then the XXI century needs programmers. According to statistics today, 70% of representatives of this profession use JavaScript in their work, so it is recommended that neophytes start developing programming from it. Google-incubator Area 120 has released for this purpose the application "Grasshopper" (Grasshopper).

The idea is simple and time-tested, the user is taught to think like a programmer, offering to play mini-games and solve quests and puzzles. They are all short, focused on one lesson, so you can study at least 10 minutes a day, even hours on end. The more the user has mastered, the more difficult it is for him to put the next task, and all of them are aimed at intuitive development of algorithms for solving problems.

In each lesson, the program explains the features of the application of new commands and tools, and then generates several tasks for their use. For example, the goal is to draw a flag of France, an image with three equal fields of different colors. You are shown the final result and run the editor, in which you need to manipulate blocks of code to achieve the goals.

If the initial lessons are identical to those presented in self-tutorials and other textbooks, then further mastering of complex systems, animation and the D3 library is already underway. The progress of the user is fixed, the player receives a rating and achievements to stimulate their studies. In the future, the number of lessons and their complexity will increase, but they will all be dedicated to JavaScript.
