The Canadian start-up "Cleo Robotics" has developed an unusual drone, which is compact in size and can compete with the usual amateur quadrocopters. The prototype device was introduced in January at the CES, but many media outlets paid attention to the development only the other day.
As writes New Atlas, the drone of Cleo looks like a round donut and is comparable to it in size. Inside the circular hull, two propellers are placed, protected from contact with the owner's fingers by a plastic grating, and the built-in battery provides the prototype device with 12-15 minutes of autonomous flight.
The device is equipped with a built-in camera, which allows you to shoot video in HD, and to control the flight using the application for the smartphone. In the future, the developers intend to equip the drone with systems of avoidance of collision with obstacles and navigation inside the premises.
To get a general idea of the shape of the drone can be thanks to a short demo video, which was published on YouTube.
The timing of the possible appearance of a drones on the market is not reported. At the same time, the creators expect that it will find demand not only among amateurs - companies that work in the security sphere can show interest in it.
