"Electronic leather" will tell about the health of people around them 2018-02-19 10:00:00 / INTERESTING INFORMATION

Scientists under the guidance of a researcher from Japan created an "electronic skin" that can display real-time parameters of a person's condition. More about the development of the scientists told at the annual conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), which takes place from 15 to 19 February in Austin, USA.

The device consists of a tiny electrode and a flexible film, on which the parameters of the electrocardiogram are displayed. Data can be transferred to a smartphone or stored in the cloud. The film is durable and resistant to abrasion, it can stretch for 45% of its length without damage.

According to the idea of the developers, the device should help the elderly, who are difficult to use existing devices that monitor the work of the heart. Another advantage of the development is that the monitoring results can be displayed prominently, for example, on the back of the hand, and the surrounding people can understand what happened to the person, if he lost consciousness, and how to help him.

The creators of the device expect to be able to launch its production and sale within the next three years. To do this, you need to make the device more reliable and increase the area of the film
