The home appliance maker Nest Labs has added Google Face Detection technology to the doorbell equipped with a camera. In addition, it is equipped with "Hello" speakers, which allows him not only to recognize people but also to "talk" with them.
The door-bell user must manually mark and name the people before the device recognizes anyone. Nest Labs is able to warn the hosts about the approach of a stranger or, conversely, familiar people, futurist.ru reports.
The device will be on sale during the first three months of 2018. The price is not called yet.
Google bought Nest Labs for $ 3.2 billion in 2014. The company produces thermostats, connected to the Internet, smoke detectors, autonomous security cameras. At present, Nest is part of a group of unstable companies working in the field of new technologies, which collectively lost $ 10.6 billion over the past three and a half years.
