The next scientific seminar of the Department № 4 of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS was held. Opening the event, Head of Department, Deputy Director for Technology, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov said that the seminar was dedicated to WiGig technologies: current state and application areas.
Presenting the report, an employee of the institute Tabriz Aghashov informed about the standards of Wi-Fi, which began to be used in 2000. He introduced the most common Wi-Fi points in public places among countries. He also talked about WiGig technology, the next-generation wireless communication standard created by the Wireless Gigabit Aliance.
The speaker pointed out that this technology differs from the fastest available wireless communications technology and said that WiGig technology is capable of carrying 8 Gbps of data among its devices. According to him, WiGig technology is expected to be introduced by the end of 2017.
T.Agashov noted the statistical data on the areas of the "WiGig 802.11ad" standard and the companies having a great role in the development of this standard.
