SDN technology security problems are being investigated 2018-05-10 16:32:00 / SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLIES

SDN (Software –Defined Networking) is an approach to computer networking that allows network administrators to manage networks through abstraction of high-level functionality. Unlike conventional network architectures, SDN facilitates network management, allowing operators to manage the network more conveniently. Centralized management has a logical global network look and operator can provide enough information to optimize network services or improve network performance.

The employee of the Department of Information Technology of ANAS, Orkhan Mansimzadeh, said during the speech at the next scientific seminar of the department. He  presented  the report on "SDN technologies safety problems"  and spoke about the architecture of this technology.

According to the speaker, the level of application allows rapid response to different requirements of network operators. Innovative application software is designed to work on SDN managers and fulfills different requirements  such as network virtualization, traffic monitoring, security improvements, load balancing, and so on.

The next level consists of a controller that manages common SDN functions. This level plays the role of mediator between level of application and data transfer. The Administrator is responsible for managing all traffic flows and makes decisions on routing, routing traffic, sending the package.

The data transmission level consists of network elements and packet transmission facilities.

Speaking about the SDN's security concept, the reporter said that the network is one of the most popular security mechanisms. He noted that inter-network screens are responsible for tracking network traffic and ensuring their connection or intervention on the basis of any criteria set by users or network administrators.

O.Mansimzade also informed the participants about the SDN's perspectives and controls.
