Timely diagnosis and monitoring of diseases, without a doubt, occupies an extremely important place in modern medicine. But many diseases require extremely complex devices for constant monitoring of the state of health. To improve the quality of life, more and more smart gadgets are being created. And recently a prototype of "smart T-shirt" was presented to fix the performance of the heart. And, interestingly, behind its creation there is a pupil of Lyceum № 97 of the city of Chelyabinsk.
The project is a joint development of Alexey Pasynkov and the Center for Sports Science of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service of SUSU. The demonstration of the device took place within the framework of the All-Russian forum of scientific youth "Step into the Future".
The development managed to reach the final of the event, which was presented in the section "Biomedical engineering", news.rambler.ru reports. As for the ECG T-shirt itself, it is arranged quite interestingly: it is based on conductive tissue with a special microchip that can detect the potential difference that occurs during the contraction of the heart muscle. The received information is sent to the smartphone in real time. The application installed on the smartphone, monitors the incoming data and advises the user, in case of deviation from the norm to consult a cardiologist. T-shirts are planned to be launched in production in the near future.
