The next scientific seminar of Department No. 16 of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS dedicated to the topic "Current state of Web resources analitics and its challenges'' was held. Presented the report, Yusif Sadiyev gave detailed information about metrics in web analytics, analytics of web sites, and other problems in this field.

Y.Sadıyev said that the web analytics is the collection of statistical data from web-sites, measurement, analysis and reporting. Analytics of web sites allows you to make reports according to the demographics (age, gender), languages, browsers, time slot, content and geographic location (country, city).

Speaking about the history of Web analytics, reporter noted that in 1993 the applications for web sites were recorded in the log-files and at that year "Webtrends' web analytics service was launched. According to him the f irst log-file analysis program-"Analog” has been developed by Professor Stephen Turner in 1995. In 2004, "Web Analytics Association" dealing with the analysis of digital data collected by the web-resources was established and in 2011 the name was changed to"Digital Analytics Association. In 2005, the "Google" company began to offer"Google Analytics" service.

65,50 percent of  web sites  use analytics services , 34,50 percent did not use, he  said.  He also introduced the ratings of platforms that conduct analytics of Web. " Google Analytics", "YandexMetrica", "WordPress jetpack", "LiveInternet" and "New Relic" takes  place  in the top five.

Y. Sadıyev touched upon the current state of and problems of web sites: “In Azerbaijan, the analysis and statistics of most web-resources on the Internet segment is carried out by using the services provided by the various platforms.  all statistical information of  Web resources stored exactly on these platforms.  If users lose their account information, then the loss of all the information on its website resource will happen.  Problems like these reveal the need for the development of the National Information Security Concept and establishment of the National Statistical System".

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
