The head of the International Relations Department of the Institute of Information Technology, PhD Vugar Musayev said during a speech on the report of 2016 at a meeting of the Scientific Board of the Department.

The reporter said that over the years, we had cooperation with scientific institutions in more than 50 countries.More than 20 scientists from 10 countries participated in the meetings of the institute, 2 international conference co-organized by the organization, he noted. He said that employees of the department have conducted research with foreign scientists, have attended in 20 foreign visits.

V.Musayev said, cooperation with GEANT organization was expanded in 2016. He noted AzScienceNet-computer network join the GEANT organization and "GN4"project wihich is implemented under the framework of "Horizon 2020" of the association invited our organization to take part in the project. And that, at present, the institute is working intensively with the organizations into association.

According to the speaker, the institute took an active part in the establishment of the EaP Connect covering the countries of Eastern Partnership, a regional telecommunications network for research and education .In October 2016, in Tbilisi, "EaPEC: Electronic Infrastructure Conference for the Eastern Partnership " beside the Europe's leading projects, as well as detailed information was given about AzScienceNetof  the institute.

"One of the most important activities of the world's leading universities, international cooperation is the work of foreign students," - he said V.Musayev institute special attention to this issue, he said. He noted that 87 foreign students participated in courses in computer science at the institute. 20 undergraduates of the Faculty of Information Technology of Eurasian National University of Kazakhstan named L.N.Gumilyov passed scientific practice course at the various departments of the institute. Currently, 2 foreign students are studying PhD in the institute.

Later, academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the institute, academician Rasim Aliguliyev noted the important role of the International Relations Department for the implementation of foreign policy of the ICT of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
