It is known that certain events are carried out in the direction of executing tasks stemming out from decree of the ANAS Presidium “On the reinforcing AzScienceNet Science-Computer network activities” dated December 14, 2016. To this end, network infrastructure of the several instiutute and organizations in the academy are re-setup again by tecnichal support of ANAS Institute of Information Technology.

Recently, Wi-Fi network infrastructure of the Institute of Physics was re-setup and Eduroam service has been commissioned by institute employees.

According to the Deputy Director of the Institute of Information Technology PhD in Engineering Assoc. Prof. Rashid Alakbarov works in this direction at the Institute of Physics will pave the way for future performance and more efficient organization of work of the institute, create further opportunities for scientists and specialists’ integration into the European research environment.

Note that the Eduroam (education roaming) is an international roaming service submitted by GEANT (computer network for research and education in Europe), providing scholars, researchers, teachers and students’ free and secure access to the Internet. Users connected to this service gets free and safe access to the Internet via a wireless network in the territories of thousands of scientific and educational organizations both in the country and abroad.

In our country, Eduroam is carried out by the Institute of Information Technology, representing Azerbaijan in the GEANT Association. Eduroam service was established by the institute in AzScienceNet-computer network. Setting up in the institute and organizations of ANAS National Eduroam Server has been registered in the European Eduroam Confederation.

In the near future it is planned to re-setup network infrastructure of ANAS Institute of Biophysics.
