In accordance with the rate of formation and development of the information society in the country as part of an electronic Azerbaijan achieved a significant shift in the direction of formation of e-science, ensured its integration into the electronic educational environment and other online media. Infrastructure is the platform of e-science AzScienceNet scientific computer network was reorganized on the basis of broadband Internet technology, its technological base upgraded and significantly enhanced functionality. In order to solve scientific problems that require supercomputer technology and Big Data, it has been handed over to the Data Center operation, with extensive capabilities. The regional scientific institutions of ANAS established distance learning network.
Within the framework of the Eastern Partnership initiatives were important steps towards the integration of scientific and educational institutions of Azerbaijan in the scientific and educational space in Europe. To this end, with the financial support of the European Commission's high-speed connection AzScienceNet computer network was envisaged as a national operator of pan-European network. Meanwhile, the national grid infrastructure of the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) was established at the academy.
Regular monitoring has been conducted to assess the provision of ICT, science and research institutions have been provided with modern computer technology and high-speed Internet. In order to inform the public about the activities of research institutions, many websites were launched and started the activities of Internet TV ElmTV Academy (TV Science).
It is also done important work in the field of scientific information. So, the scientists were able to use the authoritative international scientific databases. It is encouraging that in our country is already undergoing rapid computerization of knowledge areas, mathematical methods are widely used, there are more and more multi-disciplinary subjects as geoinformatics, bioinformatics, computational linguistics, information economy, etc.
In the majority of scientific and educational institutions of the republic are created and developed electronic libraries. Recently constructed, the Central Scientific Library of the Academy has electronized and equipped with modern ICT. As part of e-science for the informatization of the National Council for the Coordination of Research and its member research councils carried out a number of ICT projects, different registries, and analytical information systems. Entrance examinations for doctoral studies and examinations minimum are carried out in the academy based on computer technologies through test system.
In general, the monitoring shows that the process of formation and dynamics of the e-science in our country according to ICT indicators, takes rightful place at the national level.
