On May 2, 2015, the Institute of Information Technology hosted the final stage of "Republic Olympiad in Informatics among university students", which was dedicated to the May 17 - World Telecommunication and Information Society Day.
The event, which had been held annually since 2007, was organized by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of AR, Ministry of Education of AR and the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.
12 teams from 12 higher education institutions (Baku State University (BSU), Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Qafqaz University, Baku High Oil School, Azerbaijan Technical University, Moscow State University (MSU) Baku branch, Nakhchivan State University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan University, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, National Aviation Academy, ADA University) took part at the final stage.
According to the results of the final stage, Qafqaz University team "Caucasus Programmers” won 1st position, Azerbaijan Technical University team "AzTU1" and ADA University team “ADA U4” won 2nd position, National Aviation Academy team "NAA50", Azerbaijan State Oil Academy team “ADNA1” and Baku High Oil school team “BHOS1” won the 3rd position.
The winners will be awarded on May 14, 2015, at the event to be held at the Institute of Information Technology dedicated to May 17 - Information Society Day.
