Head of the AzScienceNet Network Operation Center of the Institute of Information Technology, Babak Nabiyev participated in the event of the EaPonnect project entitled "EaP National Research and Education Networks - Towards new frontiers"held on 4 March 2024.

The event, held in Poznan, Poland, highlighted the achievements and prospects of the EaPonnect project by the National Research and Education Networks of the Eastern Partnership countries over the past 10 years. It was noted that this project is of great importance in terms of the development of cooperation relations between the Eastern Partnership countries in the future. There was also an exchange of views on the role of the National Research and Education Networks of the Eastern Partnership countries, project partners, GÉANT and various team members in the digital transformation of science and education ecosystems in the region.

B. Nabiyev also participated in the 35th meeting of the General Assembly of the GEANT Association as part of the visit. This year, official representatives from Research and Education networks of Europe, as well as the Eastern Partnership countries, gathered at the event and held discussions. The meeting reviewed the innovation program for 2025, the development of cooperation between networks, the GEANT action plan, membership issues, strategy, current projects and relevant decisions were made.

It should be noted that the General Assembly is the highest governing body of GEANT. Representatives of member organizations meet twice a year.
