The membership of the AzScienceNet Network Operation Center of the Institute of Information Technology to the EduGAIN interfederation service has been approved. A total of 52 people participated in the voting. The membership of AzSciencenNet was approved by the vote of 46 people.
The eduGAIN interfederation service connects identity federations around the world, simplifying access to content, services and resources for the global research and education community. eduGAIN comprises over 70 participant federations connecting more than 8,000 Identity and Service Providers.
On 1-5 July, within the framework of the EapConnect project of the GEANT, trainings on the “Establishment and development of the Identity Federation” were held for AzScienceNet staff at IIT of ANAS. Trainings were conducted by the specialists of the LITNET Research and Education network of Lithuania. At the training the basics, standards, and solutions on architectures, selection of appropriate software and architecture, the establishment of local federations, and support for the installation of eduGAIN service were taught.
