A Victory Parade dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held on December 10 in Baku's Freedom Square.

AZERTAC informs that, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan took part in the Victory Parade.

Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Karim Valiyev of the "Zafar" Order commanded the "Iron Fist" operation - the Victory Parade dedicated to the great Victory in the Patriotic War of Azerbaijan.

The parade featured more than 3,000 personnel, about 150 military equipment, including modern military equipment, missile and artillery installations, air defense systems, as well as warships and boats. The parade also featured some of the military booty seized by the Azerbaijani Army during the Great Patriotic War.

The military orchestra performed "Azerbaijan fanfare".

The Minister of Defense, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, reported to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The heads of state greeted the soldiers.

The military orchestra sang the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

First of all, I ask that the memory of our martyrs who died in the Great Patriotic War be commemorated with a minute of silence.

May God have mercy on all our martyrs!

Today is a historic day. Victory Parade is being held in Freedom Square today. I am very glad that the President of the Republic of Turkey, my dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has accepted my invitation to participate in this parade. At the same time, a large delegation from Turkey, Turkish soldiers and officers are present. It once again demonstrates our unity, friendship and brotherhood.

From the first days of the Civil War, or rather from the first hours, we felt the support of Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has supported Azerbaijan's just cause from the first hours. His open, unequivocal and harsh statements made the people of Azerbaijan very happy.

Azerbaijan won a brilliant victory in 44 days, defeated Armenia and ended the occupation. Every day of these 44 days is our glorious history. Every day the Azerbaijani Army was advancing, every day new cities, villages, settlements and heights were liberated.

Azerbaijani territories have been under occupation for about 30 years. In the early 1990s, Armenia's policy of aggression against Azerbaijan led to the occupation of our lands. In fact, Armenia's aggressive policy began in the late 1980s.

For many years, we have conveyed the truth about this issue at all international events, a lot of work has been done and it has paid off. Four resolutions of the UN Security Council, resolutions of the UN General Assembly, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, the European Parliament and other organizations supported the just cause of Azerbaijan. Thus, a legal basis has been created for resolving the conflict.

We have been closely following the processes taking place in the world and have seen that in recent years, international law and principles have been grossly violated. Some countries use force to achieve their goals, international law remains on paper, UN Security Council resolutions remain on paper. In this case, a military solution to the conflict was inevitable. In addition, in recent years, especially in the last two years, Armenia's provocative steps, statements and actions have made war inevitable. The very harmful and dangerous statements of the Armenian leadership almost put an end to the talks. Saying "Karabakh is Armenia", the Armenian leadership ended the talks. Settlement of Armenians brought from abroad in our historical lands is a war crime, contrary to international conventions. On September 27, our villages and military positions came under artillery fire, and there were casualties among civilians and servicemen. We have already said that this occupation must end and will end. As the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I ordered the Azerbaijani soldier to advance, to liberate our land, to end the occupation, to punish the occupier, and that's what happened. Azerbaijan achieved what it wanted in 44 days and restored justice.

Every day of these 44 days is our glorious history, every day Azerbaijan was moving forward. There has not been a single day in these 44 days that we have retreated. We have broken through the fortifications built by Armenia for almost 30 years. These fortifications were built in such a way that Azerbaijan could not pass through, our soldiers could not pass through. At the same time, the geographical relief of Nagorno-Karabakh was more favorable for the Armenian side. In just 44 days, the Armenian army was destroyed, military equipment was destroyed, manpower was destroyed, and Azerbaijan showed its strength and power.

I said that we are gathering strength and we have gathered this strength. We have won this victory both due to professionalism and heroism, as well as due to the national spirit. We were right, justice was on our side. On November 10, Armenia was forced to sign an act of capitulation. According to this act of capitulation, Kalbajar, Lachin and Aghdam regions were returned to Azerbaijan without firing a single shot, and the Azerbaijani flag was raised there. This shows that we have won the war both on the battlefield and in the political arena.

This victory is a historic victory. The people of Azerbaijan have been waiting for this day for almost 30 years. The victorious Army of Azerbaijan fulfilled its historical mission and defeated Armenia. The Armenian army is almost non-existent and destroyed. After that, if Armenian fascism rises again, the result will be the same. Again, Azerbaijan's iron fist will break their backs.

And now a new era begins for us - the era of creation. The hated enemy destroyed all the occupied lands. This information is already available to everyone, there are videos. My visits to the liberated territories show this. All buildings, all historical monuments, mosques, graves, cemeteries were destroyed by the hated enemy. We will restore them all. Restoration work has already begun.

I would like to end my speech with a famous saying. Everyone knows that the Armenian leadership said a year ago that "Karabakh is Armenia and the point." I said, "Karabakh is Azerbaijan and it is a exclamation." Today, the whole world sees that Karabakh is Azerbaijan! Garabagh is ours! Karabakh is Azerbaijan! Love to the Azerbaijani Army! Long live Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship and brotherhood! Long live the Azerbaijani soldier!

I greet you with my most sincere feelings, love and respect.

We are very pleased to be with you on this Victory Day.

I thank my brother Ilham Aliyev for this high invitation and hospitality.

May God bless the heroes who were martyred in the glorious struggle of Azerbaijan for 44 days and wish our veterans a speedy recovery.

The liberation of Azerbaijani lands does not mean the end of the struggle. The struggle in the political and military spheres will continue on very different fronts. During the thirty years of occupation, we have all seen that these areas have been devastated, and there are no stones left on top of each other.

During the war, Azerbaijani lands such as Ganja, Tartar, Agdam, Barda, Agjabadi were also targeted. One hundred innocent civilians were killed, mothers were left without children and children were left without parents. As a result of the attacks, 416 brothers were injured. The laws of war have been grossly violated, and human dignity has been trampled underfoot. Their consciences are as blind as the eyes of those who ignore them. We must take this into account in every way.

Thanks to the selflessness of our martyrs, Azerbaijan has, thankfully, regained its territorial integrity. The lands of Azerbaijan have already joined the waters of the Tartar River, which they have been longing for years. The fog at the top of the Shusha mountains is no longer painful. The Host Nightingale is now free and will open more beautifully. Araz will sing the song louder.

Concluding my speech, I heartily congratulate all the people of Azerbaijan, my dear brother President Ilham Aliyev and the glorious Azerbaijani Army, the Turkish Army. He remembers our dear martyrs with gratitude and wishes our veterans a speedy recovery. Thank you, be there, entrust to God!

After the speeches of the heads of state, the Victory Parade began. The personnel of our Armed Forces marched to the podium under the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Victory Banner of the 44-Day Patriotic War inscribed in golden letters in our glorious military history. Following the state flag and the Victory flag, the flags of the Azerbaijani Army were brought to Freedom Square.

A group of battle flag bearers led by the Hero of the Patriotic War, Major General Zaur Mammadov, brought the battle flags of the military units that had made an exceptional contribution to the Great Victory to Freedom Square.

The Victory Parade, hosted by Colonel Abdullah Gurbani, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Honored Art Worker, a personal pensioner of the President, solemnly demonstrated to the world the Great Victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the 44-day war.
