International Information Security Day has been celebrated all over the world for 32 years. In 1988, the American Computer Equipment Association declared November 30 as International Information Security Day.
The purpose of announcing this day was to remind everyone of the importance of protecting computer information, also to draw the attention of users and manufacturers of hardware and software to security issues.
On November 30 of the same year, a mass epidemic of Morris worms was recorded. It was then that experts thought about the need for a comprehensive approach to information security. Since then, the Computer Equipment Association has traditionally held a series of events each year to explore solutions to various information security problems.
