Headwind Solutions’s open-source mobile device management platform is now available for installation.
St. Petersburg company Headwind Solutions has developed a software system that facilitates the work of system administrators in managing corporate mobile devices. The open-source mobile device management platform, the world's first product with similar features, is already available for download and implementation in the company's work processes.
According to the plan of the head developer of Hadwind Solutions Vsevolod Mayorov, the platform is designed to reduce the time spent by the system administrator on supporting the company's fleet of mobile devices, reduce management to a single-center, and also make employees focus on work tasks.
According to iksmedia.ru, a useful function of the system is to provide a library for integrating any mobile application with Headwind MDM, after which remote logging and centralized configuration become available for these mobile applications.
“The key advantage of the platform is open-source code, or rather, the Open Core principle - the core of the open-source platform is available to the user for free, and additional modules, add-ons, adaptations to the highly specialized requirements of corporate clients, as well as services for the implementation and technical support of the product, can be purchased for an additional fee, ”says its creator Vsevolod Mayorov about the principles of the MDM platform.
The platform is included in the register of Russian programs of the Ministry of Communications as a domestic product, recommended for use in government organizations. The developers believe that the MDM platform can be an excellent tool for companies with a large number of employees engaged in fieldwork: wholesale companies, passenger and freight taxis, logistics and freight services, warehouse services, etc.
