At the Experimental Biology 2018 conference, scientists from South Korea introduced a 3D printer for  food printing.

Researchers have assembled a device that can reproduce the physical properties and nanoscale texture of food products, using nutrient powder ingredients for this. Powder is manufactured as follows: nutrients (mainly proteins and carbohydrates) are crushed with cryogenic grinding at a temperature of minus 100 degrees Celsius. After this, under the influence of pressure, high temperatures and water, the contents turn into a porous film.

Scientists hope that their invention will be in demand in the future, because, according to experts, by 2050 the world population will increase to 10 billion people. And this way of cooking can save many people from hunger, as well as reduce the cost of shipping, storage and transportation.
