Essential tremor is a common disorder of movement. Its cause is unknown. This pathology is usually manifested by the trembling of the hands, hands or fingers, but sometimes connects the head, vocal cords and other parts of the body during arbitrary movements such as eating or writing.
Employees of Kansas University have developed a unique bracelet that reduces trembling in the hands, tells UPI.com. Scientists have tested a new device. To participate in the study, more than 130 patients with hand tremor were invited. Part of the volunteers received a model, and the rest - a real device.
The bracelet sends pulses to the median and radial nerves in the wrist in order to block the neural activity causing hand trembling. For participants wearing a real bracelet, the tremor was reduced by 65%, and for volunteers from the control group - by 32%.
