Developers from the company DFINITY have started to create an open protocol that allows to unite users' computers into a single decentralized cloud platform, turning them into a kind of "Internet computer". Developers report that they plan to compete with cloud services from Amazon, Google and Microsoft. The computers connected to the system will be able to share their mining capacities for a certain amount in the company's tokens.
The developers explain that they want to create a system that can turn the Internet into a kind of a powerful computing center, combining, through an open protocol of its own development, all users who connect to the DFINITY network created.
The resulting network of computers can perform the functions of the cloud platform, while ensuring maximum security and competitive prices. Based on this platform, you can create and decentralized applications - for this, the creators of "cloud 3.0" will make a set of special tools.
Developers have already been able to attract about $ 100 million to develop. Release of the beta version of the platform is scheduled for the end of 2018.
