Startup Misty Robotics, who previously produced robots for teaching children programming, introduced the robot Misty I for programmers. The compact Misty I is equipped with two Snapdragon processors, a liquid crystal display, microphones, USB and a camera that recognizes the surrounding objects and people's faces.
In this model, many parts are not hidden under the hull, but on the contrary - are located on the surface. For example, on the "face" there is a sensor for analyzing the surrounding space, and on the "back" - a chip that can be supplemented with different sensors. To move in a full version of the device used caterpillars, and in the demo version - wheels. To configure the robot, it is not necessary to understand robotics: using JavaScript API programmers can develop any applications for it.
The first deliveries of the robot Misty I will begin in February. Its cost will be 1499 dollars. Also, the company plans to create an improved version before the end of the year - Misty II.
