Sometimes it seems that the fantastic cities of the future, based on the use of high technologies, will never be created and will remain dreams, because in order to "modify" modern cities, you need huge resources! However, the Chinese company Baidu plans to create a "city of the future" from scratch just 100 kilometers from Beijing.
Construction of the city will be carried out within the new economic zone Xiongan New Area, which is designed to become a test site for testing new technologies, primarily related to artificial intelligence technologies. A large-scale town-planning project has several objectives at once. First, to relieve the extremely densely populated Beijing, and secondly, to create an "environmentally friendly and technologically advanced city". Initially, the area of the city will be 100 square kilometers and will eventually be expanded to 2000 square kilometers. Such a territory can accommodate from 2 to 2.5 million people.
The new city provides a fundamentally new infrastructure using smart public transport and unmanned vehicles, the first tests of which have already begun in Baidu. In addition, many urban facilities and communications will be controlled by a special neural network with the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
