The crows, considered as clever creatures, have the ability to understand the analogy as well as to use tools. Some scholars believe that their intellect can compete with the mind of the monkeys. The Dutch startup Crowded Cities intends to teach the crows to bring cigarette stocks into special dishes.

At present, numerous cigarette stocks are found on the streets of cities. According to the project creators, about 6 billion rubles are thrown to the streets of Amsterdam every year. Therefore, the startup team has decided to create a system in which smart birds are employed in search of storms.

The authors of the project were inspired by the work of American technologist Joshua Klein, who in 2008 described a vending machine that taught the crows to collect coins and exchange them for peanuts, naked-science.ru reports.

"Crowded Cities'' uses a similar approach. Members of the team have developed a special device called Crowbar, which, in fact, is a complex feeder. Birds should bring cigarette stocks and throw them into the Crowbar funnel. The camera installed on the bottom of the funnel confirms that the fallen object is indeed a cigarette stock. Then the system takes out a small amount of food on a special platform.

At the moment, as members of the Crowded Cities team state, all components of the system are functioning and ready to work. After the assembly, Crowbar will be tested on the streets of Amsterdam.
