Artificial Intelligence experts from Nottingham and Kingston universities (England) have launched a new site that generates a 3D face model based on a single image. It is recommended that the photo be made in the face - so the algorithms will be easier to recognize the person.
For converting a two-dimensional image into 3D, a neural network, "trained" in thousands of people, responds. She tries to guess how a person can look in real life, and even dorisovyvaet those of his features that are not visible in the original photo.
According to one of the developers of Aaron Jakeson, the site was created "for fun" in just "a couple of evenings." All downloaded images and reconstructed "face reconstructions" are automatically deleted after 20 minutes and no more are used.
Find out how your face looks in 3D, you can click on this link. The result can be saved as an OBJ file and imported into 3D editors, such as Autodesk Maya or Blender.
