Volvo introduced an intelligent cloud service that will help to avoid accidents 2018-05-15 14:25:00 / TECHNOLOGİCAL İNNOVATİONS

Now trucks and cars from Volvo can automatically warn each other about emergency situations on the roads and potential danger. This was made possible by launching a proprietary cloud service called Connected Safety.

Volvo Trucks and Volvo Cars have teamed up to present the truly working, useful Connected Safety service for motorists. For cars it already existed: the system has been in operation since 2016. Now the possibilities of the network have expanded - in the mode of the present time, passenger cars and Volvo trucks will share messages about dangerous situations on the road with each other.

Volvo Cars proposes to use the system in all new brand cars, including the XC line, as well as the Volvo V60 and Volvo V90. For trucks, the cloud service will be connected already this year, it will operate on the territory of Norway and Sweden. Volvo Trucks promise that the system will be able to work on such overalls as Volvo FH16, Volvo FH, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX.

Connected Safety is not the only service that is responsible for safety in Volvo cars. It works simultaneously with adaptive cruise control systems, rapid braking, and the appearance of a signal for the driver that it's worth taking a break (if the system sees signs of inattention or drowsiness in the driver's car). Manufacturers expressed the hope that more cars will join Connected Safety in the future, thus replenishing the base with information and making the roads safer. Also in Volvo they hope that other car manufacturers will follow suit.
