Engineers from the domestic company "Business Bureau" have developed a system that will help people with visual and hearing impairment to better navigate in space. The development of Russian specialists is a multichannel data processing complex that converts visual and audible information into an easily perceived disability - for example, in the text on the Braille alphabet.

The information processing system from the "Business Bureau" won a grant from the Innovation Support Fund - the complex took the prize in the "Development-NTI" competition and received a grant of fifteen million rubles.

The device consists of two units - one of them is designed to capture external data and, accordingly, is equipped with a camera and a microphone, and the second is responsible for interpreting the data received by the first unit.

The key purpose of the system is to make the disabled, who are at the same time impaired vision and hearing, more suitable for independent orientation in space, planet-today.ru reports.

The complex allows you to recognize a variety of objects - in particular, houses, obstacles and traffic signs. As for the recognition of sounds, here the possibilities of the system are also at an altitude.
